WordCamp Wilmington is a part of the WordCamp.org and WordPress Foundation. The WordCamp Organization is responsible for bringing the WordPress community together on a local and regional level. Each organizer is a volunteer and works alongside mentors to make sure that each event is fun, educational and structured.
While attending other WordCamps in the past, a couple of Wilmington natives decided it would benefit our community to host a WordCamp at the beach. Once we developed interest in our communities by hosting various WordPress Meetups we submitted and application to become an organizer of WordCamp. Since then, the rest is history – we are proud to announce that this will be the first ever WordCamp Wilmington.
